Annye Rothenberg, Ph.D. is a Child/Parent Psychologist and founder/former
director of the Child Rearing Education and Counseling Program in Palo
Alto, California. She received her Ph.D. from Cornell University in Child
Development and Child Psychopathology. She is a nationally recognized expert
on parenting education and guidance for parents of young children. Dr.
Rothenberg is also a leader in training professionals in education, health
care, and social services to provide more effective guidance to parents
and help increase parents' skills in understanding and raising their children.
She is a member of the Clinical Faculty in the Department of Pediatrics
at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Rothenberg is the senior author of Parentmaking: A Practical Handbook for Teaching Parent Classes about Babies and Toddlers(Menlo Park, CA: Banster Press, 1983 revised, 1995) - an award-winning parenting education curriculum; and the Parentmaking Educators Training Program: A Comprehensive Skills Development Course to Train Early Childhood Parent Educators (birth to 5) - a book and videotape package (Menlo Park, CA: Banster Press, 1993). She is also the author of Understanding and Working with Parents and Children from Rural Mexico. In her child/parent psychology practice in Redwood City, California, she integrates training, teaching, and counseling with a wide variety of families including many from ethnic minorities.
